Hi there! I’m Rose.

I am 16 years old and I love drawing, going for long walks and music but most of all I have a deep passion for photography and film !
I love to capture the world the way I see it and to let people see the magic that goes on in my head. I especially love to photograph weddings ! There is something about meeting new and amazing people, learning about them and then taking photos on their most special day that never ceases to excite and inspire me.

I’ve also been lucky enough to have been the official photographer on a feature length NZ film, photograph big events like TEDx Tauranga, Christmas in the Park (photographing amazing singers Dave Dobbyn & Tiki Taane), Nadia Lim (MasterChef winner and author), Little Big Markets (highlight being photographing Mike Van de Elzen whilst they were filming the Kiwi Living Show) and Zespri, photographed some cool products, did some portraits of truly beautiful people and of course shot lots of incredible weddings !

About three years ago I started branching into film and in the last year or two have filmed 18 beautiful weddings, some Masterchef cooking demonstration and some short commercial films some of which you can check out on my films page.

Now I’m going to let you in on a secret, I’m on my way to be a movie director.  I’ve formed Twinkling Bat Films, it is my independent film company. I will be making my own films, trying new things and unleashing my creativity on the world.  So head on over and check it out!

I’m having a blast and my goal is to continue to work with amazing, creative and talented people and to keep creating, capturing and sharing magical stories.  One day it will be my name rolling in the credits of a big Hollywood film as Director…..so follow me on this amazing adventure called life…

That’s enough from me, here’s what some other people say about me…

There are no words to describe our gratitude to Miss Rose, she truly made our day magical. From the first moment we meet her, if professional and positive attitude set our minds at ease. On our wedding day she went the extra mile and was there until the very end. And a few weeks later our little care package arrived with our photos and treats to enjoy them with. The photos were even better than I could ever imagine. We would recommend her to anyone and everyone for all your photography needs.
Thank you Little Miss Rose, our day wouldn’t have been the same without you.

Lots of Love Mr & Mrs Davids

Hi Rose,
Just wanted to send you a quick note to let you know impressed we are with our wedding photos. You really made us relax in front of the camera and have truly captured our personalities. We’ve had many comments on how great you were at directing people and organising everyone. We can’t even pick 10 favourites as there are so many amazing pictures. Thanks again for being a part of our special day.

We are so happy that we booked Little Miss Rose to be our wedding Photographer. She is a young and very talented Photographer, Her photos and business are up to the high standard (if not better) of any other popular photographer across town. Rose is very mature and wise beyond her 15 years! She also knows how to take control and get the exact shots she wants. The photos Rose captured from our wedding day are beyond amazing and we are thrilled. The hard part now is choosing our favourites because there are so many..Thankyou so much Rose, you are a sweetheart, we are now trying to find ways to book you again in the future for more wonderful photos. Xxx’

Lots of love Kylie and Leigh xx

We had Rose shoot our wedding at Old Forest School and seeing the photos confirmed what we already knew which is Rose is an outstanding photographer.

Rose was very polite to work with and had a good grasp on what we were after in terms of the photos and theme we were trying to go with. We met Rose before the wedding for a pre-wedding shoot which was great. We got to know Rose and fall in love with her cuteness. Rose was very organised on our wedding day and had everything under control, she was a star the entire day. She took control of the large crowd and knew how to get what she wanted from them.
We are so happy with how all the photos turned out and were amazed how fast she edited them all, we even met with Rose and she showed as through the photos which were a very nice touch.
We wish Rose all the best with the future and highly recommend her.

Hi Rose…..wow wow wow!! We are sitting on our water villa in the Maldives watching this for the first time and tears are rolling down my cheeks!

Rose, of Little Miss Rose Photography Ltd fame, also professionally supports RET, acting as the official photographer and videographer. Thanks to her hard work and talent behind the lens, and with the support of her sister Holly, Rose has produced some outstanding photos that capture the very essence of the Trust’s conservation work, and the dedication of our volunteers. The fact that Rose managed to perfectly capture an elusive kōkako on her first outing into the bush is a source of annoyance for Roger, one of our Trustees, who had been trying to do the same, unsuccessfully until this year.

Rose is one of those exceptionally talented people, that when you meet, you can’t quite believe one single human being can be quite so amazing. But she is, and then some. At Tourism Bay of Plenty, we have seen Rose in action at several events and without fail, she receives rave reviews from her clients. We also purchased one of her beautiful photographs to use in an above-the-line campaign because it was exceptional and perfect for our brief. Rose, redefines photography and is a welcome injection of fresh thinking, creativity and talent.

Hello Rose,

What a lovely job you have done of the photos – completely exceeded my expectations!
Was expecting great things given your past work, but love that you have really put a lot of thought into our brand.

We just got the photos from our mid -year social club event- wow!! They are amazing. Everyone has loved going through them and being reminded of what an amazing night it was. Your candid shots really captured some beautiful moments and your ability to get people to open up in front of the camera is just wonderful. You were an absolute delight to work with, very professional and approachable with some really great innovative ideas.  All of our staff were blown away when they found out how old you were and can’t believe the amount of talent and technical expertise you have!! I know that you have been contracted to do other work for Zespri as a corporate business and I hope this is the start of a long relationship. Keep up the amazing work and so look forward to our next event and having you there to capture the magic!

Little Miss Rose – I can’t thank you enough for the most amazing photo shoot on our beautiful beach at Mt Maunganui. It was your suggestion to do the shoot there, you knew how much I loved it and how I see the Mt very much as my second home (coming from Scotland this is my home now) so you used that connection to create a really wonderful experience for me. The photos will be a gift for my parents and I just know they are going to be thrilled when they see them in real life. You captured me perfectly and I can’t believe I was so comfortable with you on the day, normally I run the opposite way from a  camera! Thank you for not only being wonderfully artistic in your approach but also for your kind and gentle encouragement which essentially got the best out of me! can’t wait for our next shoot!

I know Rose in a personal and professional capacity, I met her when she was just gaining an interest in Photography and she has come such a long way in such a short time, she has always given 150% of her time and talent. Rose is unique in her undertaking of her career at such a young age, and has shown me many times that there is nothing you can’t do, she handles her business no differently to anyone twice her age. She is sweet natured, extremely honest and is a pleasure to have around for any given event, workplace or home.

At a very young 14 years old, Rose McMahon is taking the New Zealand wedding industry by storm. Rose’s natural talent and outstanding eye for detail are complemented by an incredibly mature approach to navigating love and life, while her determination and positive attitude make her an absolute pleasure to deal with. It is not only a huge honour to feature Rose’s work on Paper & Lace, but I feel very excited about watching such a talented young lady blossom into such a well known and highly respected photographer.

Rose McMahon worked as the stills photographer on a community resourced feature film “The Z-Nail Gang” shot in the Bay of Plenty in Feb/Mar 2014. Rose was a wonderful part of our crew, bringing commitment, fun and enthusiasm to everything she did. As the film was a community project it was great to have young people involved on the set. Rose is an incredibly mature young woman who quickly became part of the team. She was really confident and unobtrusive – she was quietly in the right place at the right time. All the cast and crew loved having Rose around and celebrated her skills at the end of the shoot watching slideshow where she’d captured all the most memorable moments from the shoot both on and off-screen. Her photographs have been used in a wide variety of Z-Nail marketing including press-kits, exhibitor information kits, on our website and in posters. Rose’s whole family were involved in the production as both her sister and her are home schooled and were able to commit to the month of filming. We saw their parents have really invested in them by the strong foundations, integrity, energy, creativity and commitment they demonstrated. Rose’s raw talent, creative eye and technical skill all combine into incredible ability in one so young and we felt absolutely privileged to have her as part of our film crew!
